What is SafetyMAP (Safety Management Achievement Program)?
SafetyMAP an audit tool designed by WorkSafe to support workplaces in improving their ability to manage health and safety. It is the Victorian Work Cover Authorities version of AS/NZS 4801 and provides a means to undertake an independent audit and review of an organisation's health and safety management system.
Who can use SafetyMAP?
SafetyMAP is applicable to any organisation – irrespective of their size or geographical location.
Why is SafetyMAP certification important for your organisation?
SafetyMAP demonstrates to your stakeholders that you're confident in your organisation's ability to meet health and safety requirements. Not only does it highlight commitment to implementing, maintaining and improving health and safety policy, but it can also provide your organisation with a competitive edge. SafetyMAP certification also helps an organisation:
- measure the performance of its health and safety program
- implement a cycle of continuous improvement
- compare its health and safety performance system to a recognised benchmark, and
- gain recognition for the standards achieved by its management of health and safety.
