What are they?

LRQA undertakes verification against a number of assessment criteria. The list below shows the global schemes which LRQA assesses against.

Some of these are based on national or international standards, whereas others have specific scheme requirements developed by individual or collective users of certification.

A scheme is a commitment that companies are either legally or voluntarily obligated to implement. Schemes vary in their coverage and are applied to a number of industry sectors.

  • Corporate Reporting

    Corporate Reporting is a process which evaluates a company's 'sustainability'

  • Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS)

    The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), is a voluntary EU directive designed to improve a company's environmental performance.

  • BRC Standard - Food

    Approval to the BRC global standard - food gives significant benefits to the supplier. It helps to avoid the confusion and disruption that multiple audits can bring and the need to duplicate variations on the same data for different clients

  • BRC/IOP global food packaging standard

    Manufacturers have an obligation to put appropriate systems and controls in place to ensure the suitability of their packaging for safe food use

  • FSSC 22000

    The new Food Safety System Certification 22000 scheme (FSSC 22000) has been developed for food manufacturers that process or manufacture animal or perishable vegetal products, products with a long shelf life and food ingredients such as additives, vitamins and bio-cultures.

  • Greenhouse and Energy Audits

    Meet compliance obligations under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) legislation

  • Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI)

    Audit reports for projects generating credits under the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI) LRQA.

  • Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)

    Project Validation and Verification services against CDM requirements.

  • Other greenhouse gas scheme compliance obligations

  • Gold Standard

    Established in 2003 by WWF, Gold Standard is an internationally recognised certification standard for carbon mitigation projects.
